Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults follow periods of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
