Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
Victory also means he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he earned the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
